Play It Forward seeks out strategic partners and organizations that focus their efforts on in-need and at-risk youths. We feel that we can achieve the greatest impact and affect the greatest number of lives by providing and re-purposing sports and exercise equipment to groups in these areas.

Adoloescents with Spine and Brain Injuries
The idea of a serious, life-altering spine or brain injury is almost unimaginable…the reality of serious, life-altering spine or brain injuries sustained by adolescents is a reality for scores of youths, doctors and therapists at the Shepherd Center every day! You cannot fully appreciate the concept of hard work and determination until you have seen physical therapy room full of injured kids trying to rehabilitate and recover from their injuries. To witness their positive outlook and persistence is awe inspiring.
Much of the rehabilitative process for these youths takes place outside of the Shepherd Center and is not covered by insurance. The reintroduction to restaurants, grocery stores, airports and athletics are an important part of the continuum of care and Play It Forward uses cash donations to support an array of activities for these young warriors.

The Bike Program
A bicycle at its core is a metal frame, a couple wheels and pedals with a chain but in reality it is so much more. A bicycle is an economic mode of transportation, an expression of independence, a means to financial income, and an enjoyable exercise alternative. A bicycle can also serve many of these purposes simultaneously.
At Play It Forward, we work with several organizations to re-purpose used (and new) bicycles to a broad range of people who need and would benefit from receiving a bike them most.
